how to wear a small square scarf

First of all, what is “a small scarf”? Let us put it as scarf sized between 40 and 70 cm. Usually these scarves are made to allow one-and-a-little-of-beauty loop around your head, 1-2 loops around your neck, 3-4 loops around wrist and can hardly become any helpful or practical piece of clothing. The scarves are normally made of silk or something alike, vuales, crepe, sometime cotton or linen. The main difference comes in fact not from the fabric itself but from the difference in size of knot you could make using the scarves.

How small square scarves are applied:
  1. First of all, they are usually paired with blouses and shirts, v-neck sweaters and pullovers, low-cut tees and dresses. What is important about tying scarves to neck is that such a decoration tends to visually cut the neck, thus making it seem shorter. This is why little neck kerchiefs are so broadly used with couple-buttons-open shirts - the shirts make the neck seem longer.

  2. narrow small scarves and squares are often used as hair accessories. There is a wide range of hairdos available with a silk or cotton 50X50 cm scarf: fixing hair up, braiding, dressing up topknot, tying pony-tails etc
  3. small scarves are easy to turn into necklaces or bracelets.

  4. With a little help of special clips, rings and bundles, small square scarves can become belts.

  5. Use a small scarf as a decoration for your bag. Wrap handles, drap a beautiful bow, this will add a touch of color to your tote or clutch.
